History

During your time at TMWS you will learn about a wide variety of different themes linked to time periods significant both to the UK and to the rest of the world. Your knowledge and understanding of the past is a vital part of your development in today’s society. You will see the importance of balanced judgements and understand that not all Historical evidence is trustworthy.

History is a discipline and will allow pupils to develop an understanding of specific events, periods and people enabling them to evaluate sources and consider both their long and short term impact. Our intention is to develop pupils empathy for others and give them an opportunity to understand their place in the world. We also establish the foundation of core values vital to today’s society and showcase the links to events today to those in the past.
