Dear Parent/Guardian,

Following the recent measures taken by our Government and the EU it has become increasingly evident that the planned trip to Belgium for Year 10 students, due to take place 1- 4 July 2020, can no longer take place. There are no guarantees as to when schools will open as normal again and when this happens the priority must be for pupils to focus on preparation for the 2021 GCSE examinations.

I have contacted Holt Tours who have agreed to cancel the tour, associated ferry crossings and hostel bookings. New ABTA guidelines for Tour Company’s mean that we will receive a full refund for deposits paid after the 31st July 2020. All payments made to the School Gateway for this trip will therefore be refunded in due course.

This decision has been unavoidable due to the current situation and by following all advice issued by the Government. We are all greatly disappointed as all staff and students were greatly looking forward to this experience.

If you would like any further information please do get in touch via E-Praise and I will do my best to be of assistance.

Yours faithfully,

Mr P Fletcher
