Dear Parents/Carers

I am writing to remind you that our Year 6 Induction Day will take place on Monday, 1st July 2013, between 9.15 am and 3.00 pm.  Children from Holme Upon Spalding Moor and Newbald primary schools will be brought by coach to school for 9.00 am.  Children from Mount Pleasant and St Marys primary schools will be expected to make their own way from home to the secondary school and can arrive from 8.45 am.

I enclose a copy of the lunch menu and suggest that your son/daughter bring £3.50 to cover lunch costs.  If you are in receipt of tokens, these will be provided for your child.  Alternatively, your son/daughter might prefer to bring a packed lunch.

Please would your son/daughter bring a basic writing kit for the sample lessons that I am organising for both the morning and afternoon sessions.

I would also like to invite you and your son/daughter to our Parent’s Information Evening on Wednesday 3rd July 2013 at 6.30 pm.  The evening will provide you with the opportunity to meet the Headteacher, myself and your child’s Form Tutor, to discuss any concerns that you or your child may have about the transfer to secondary school.

On the evening you will be able to see samples of the new school uniform with further information available on this.  In addition, there will be an opportunity for you to purchase Collins Spanish easy read Language Dictionary (£5.50), Locker Keys (£10), Scientific Calculator (£5.50) and USB Memory Stick (£4.00); please be aware, we ask that payment for the above is made on the evening so that we can order the correct quantities and the items will be distributed to your child on their first day in school during tutor time.

I look forward to meeting you and would ask that if you haven’t already returned the completed Pupil Information sheet to your child’s Primary School, that you bring it with you.
