The Market Weighton School again achieved some excellent examination results this summer with all three core subjects Maths, English and Science achieving above the national average in terms of A*-C percentage.  The Science results were outstanding with 83% of students achieving an A*-C grade, some 27% above the national figure.  In both maths and English students made progress in line with national expectations with 72% achieving A*-C in Maths and 64% in English.

There were some notable individual performances with James Rhodes gaining eight A*s and four As and Miriam Payne chalking up four A*s and seven A grades.  Billy Salmon achieved A grades in Maths, English and all three Science subjects along with four other subjects at grade A and one at grade B.  Emma White achieved 9 GCSEs at A/A* grade with a Distinction in ICT, Jonathon Austin also gained a Distinction in ICT along with seven GCSEs at A grade.  Many students exceeded their targets and should be proud of their achievements as they move on to further education or training.  All the staff at The Market Weighton School wish them every success in the future.
